Den brysomme mannen

You may think you are dealing with a surrealistic film. I have to disappoint you. This is the reality. A reality you just can't escape from. In a world that has conspired nothing but allowed itself to drift towards a sluggish, sterile state of affairs. Nothing grows here, nothing is born, nothing dies. There is no love, no children, no dreams, no excitement, no disappointment. You do not choose your life, the life chooses you. There is no self-awareness. Fighting for a cause makes you agitated. You don't want to think of where you're heading. You are pathetically following. You are not actually living... You are just breathing.

I love this subtle and refined sense of black humour. I wish I could find a book that captures this great tone. Somehow, its pessimistic atmosphere gives you an incredibly optimistic view on life. And a heightened sense of self which cannot compare with any of the adrenaline-oriented styles of art-making. Pure masterpiece.
